Press > CRYPTIC VISION RELEASES LIVE ALBUM “LIVE AT ROSFEST”
31 Jul 2011
Grand Terrace, CA 27 October 2005 – On Sunday May 1, 2005, Cryptic Vision took the stage at the Rites of Spring festival, this was one of the few public performances they had done, no one in the audience had seen them live before and no one was sure what to expect. Opening with a huge 4 part harmony, the band instantly let the audience know that they were a force to be remembered. For those who missed the show, you can now catch selections from Cryptic Vision's riveting live set which includes a previously unreleased bonus track "In A World" studio demo featuring special guest Steve LaMagna!
Cryptic Vision is a progressive rock band from Florida. Their style has been compared to such groups as Yes, Kansas, Spock's Beard, Pink Floyd, and Saga. Moments of Clarity, the debut album from Cryptic Vision was primarily a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist / songwriter Rick Duncan and vocalist Todd Plant. They have been working together on various projects since the late 80's. Both Plant and Duncan had also worked on previous projects with keyboardist / guitarist Robert Van Dyne who contributed one of the songs on Moments. Other contributors of note include former Kansas violinist David Ragsdale, former Zon/ Ian Hunter keyboardist Howard Helm. Guitarist Ralph Santolla (Millenium / Iced Earth / Sebastian Bach) and former Neurotica members Shawn Bowen and Kelly Shaefer (Ozzfest tour '02). Cryptic Vision is currently recording tracks for their new album "In A World" which will be released in early 2006. They also recently opened for Kansas.
