Press > ANDREW GORCZYCA IS SIGNED TO PROGROCK RECORDS AND RELEASES THE ALBUM "REFLECTIONS – AN ACT OF GLASS"
31 Jul 2011
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 8 December 2008 – "Reflections – An Act Of Glass" is the tribute CD dedicated to the music of the late Andrew Gorczyca, a project conceived and produced by his brother - drummer Chris G. Now Chris has teamed up with ProgRock Records to release “Reflections – An Act Of Glass” featuring an all star cast that includes the likes of Adrian Belew, Nick D’Virgilio, Ryo Okomuto, Dave Meros, Randy George, Ted Leonard, Phil Keaggy, and Mike Keneally
Chris had this to say: "I was hoping something like this would happen, even as I quietly forged ahead with this project. To me, it was simply a way of honoring my brother. My main focus was to record his music in a modern setting with notable players, but now the work is taking on an even better life with the help of the progressive rock community. I am grateful to Shawn Gordon and ProgRock Records for giving ‘Reflections – An Act Of Glass’ an opportunity to be more widely heard and available. I can think of no better outcome for Andrew’s music."
"Ironically I had approached Chris a couple years earlier to work on a personal project of mine, the timing didn’t work out but I was really impressed by his talent and just what a nice guy he was, I didn’t know anything about this tribute he was working on till it came out, and I was mightily impressed with what he had done and wanted to be a part of it.", said Shawn Gordon, President of ProgRock Records.
"Reflections – An Act of Glass" is the first release on ProgRock Records from Chris/Andrew and can be found at http://www.progrockrecords.com/artists/view.php?id=1123. This album will appeal to fans of the bands whose members were involved in this project, a great sense of melody and songwriting. The album is available for immediate order and will ship in late December and be available at your favorite brick and mortar retailer on February 10, 2009. Presales are discounted $2 on the ProgRock Records site until the album starts shipping.
